Information, technology, philosophical choices, and research-based strategies have opened doors for children who have various types of hearing loss. When a Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) approach is chosen by a child's family, they set goals for their child to communicate like their siblings and friends with typical hearing.
Auditory Verbal (AV) techniques and strategies make it possible for children to learn to listen and speak, using properly fitted hearing devices, in the language, their family uses at home. With appropriate support and accommodations, children who have hearing loss attend their local schools, play musical instruments,
and compete in their favorite sports.
There are no limits for students who have hearing loss!
